What is the best technique to structure paragraphs in order to gain maximum marks?

Techniques such as P.E.E.L can be used in order to help structure paragraphs in a specific way to help get your point across and expand on the point effectively. P.e.e.l stands for point, evidence, explanation and then link. An example of using this technique can be seen below.

Point - The population of the United States of America has been gradually increasing. Evidence - Statistic reports have demonstrated that the USA population in 2010 was 309.3 million compared to 311.7 million in 2011, before increasing further to 316.5 million in 2013. Explanation - Although the trends have been fluctuating in terms of inflation rises each year, the populations have still been rising throughout the years. Negatively correlating with this, due to increased standards and quality of health care, the death rate has additionally gradually been decreasing throughout previous years and many people are living to an older age. Link - Therefore with growing birth ratings and a decrease in death ratings, this equates to the overall population in the United States of America to have been gradually increasing throughout recent years.
