Solve the equation: 2x - 3 = 1/2

First, the denominator of the fraction is 2, so all the terms on both sides of the = have to be multiplied by 2: 4x - 6 = 1 Then you can simplify this by adding 6 to both sides: 4x = 7 And then divide both sides by 4: x = 7/4 x = 1 3/4
