How should I structure my personal statement?

It doesn't matter. The important thing is that it 'flows' - that it reads naturally. The reader should hear your voice while they read through it. You achieve this through clarity, honesty and simplicity. The first thing writing a personal statement is to brainstorm. Once you've brainstormed you should have a bundle of ideas, phrases, skills and ambitions you want to show off. Once you have these on paper, even if they are just looking like messy spaced out words, it becomes much easier to organise them into coherent paragraph structures.
