What are some of the reasons for globalisation?

There are a number of key reasons as to why globalisation has occured and is occuring more rapidly.

TRANSPORTATION- The cost of transporting goods between countries has decreased due to larger cargo ships. Transport improvements and developments has also helped the speed in which cargo is transported. Low-cost airlines allow for people to move easily between countries.

TRADE- organisations such as the Word Trade Organisation promote free trade between countries helping to remove barriers.

COMMUNICATION- advancements in the internet and mobile communications allows for greater communication between people in different countries (both personal and businesses).

LABOUR- labour skills, costs and availablity differs between countries. Some industries, for example the clothing industry, may take advantage of cheap labour in LEDCs
