When writing my essays, is it better to focus on 'width' or 'depth' of my arguments?

As most of the time in life, it is good to be balanced and aim for the best from both sides. Nevertheless, it has to be said that in terms of History IB, the examinors will definitely appreciate more the development of arguments, rather than just their simple enumeration. It is important to have several well-developed arguments in your essays. Also, it is always good to brainstorm for a few minutes after you see an essay question. You might know a lot about that specific topic, but not all of that knowledge might be applied to the question asked.
