How do I ask a question in French?

Suppose you want to ask someone if they are tired. You need to start with a declarative sentence: "Tu es fatigué", which means "You are tired" There are two methods you can use to ask a question in French. The first method uses "Est-ce que" at the start of the sentence, whose word order remains that of a declarative sentence. For example: "Est-ce que tu es fatigué ?" The second method involves swapping the subject and the verb in the declarative sentence. For example: "Es-tu fatigué ?" If you use this method with a sentence where the verb ends in a vowel and the subject is IL/ELLE/ON, you need to add the letter T between the verb and the subject.
