Describe how Homer makes Books 9-12 of the Odyssey vivid ?

During these books, Homer creates a flashback sequence narrated by the protagonist Odysseus himself. This is exciting for the reader as finally, we can witness Odysseus creativity firsthand in his storytelling. Homer also provides mystery here by forcing the reader to question the truth in Odysseus' words as he amplifies his bravado and skill. These are the Books in the Odyssey in which there is the most adventure. Such as the underworld scene in book 11 which is filled with eerie language and suspenseful tone; 'Panic drained the blood from his cheeks'. The reader is plunged into the unknown world along with the Ithacans and hence feel the terror as if it were there own. During this book, we also encounter strong prophecies which carry dark waves of foreboding. For example Agammenon warning Odysseus to beware of his wife. There is anxiety in the air as despite the current tumultuous atmosphere Odysseus may be awaiting a far more dangerous mariticide at home.
