Which test would you use to identify the difference between an aldehyde and a ketone? Explain your observations.

Tollens Reagent "silver mirror test". When added to the aldehyde, a silver mirror appears. When added to the ketone, nothing happens. This is because the Tollens Reagent oxidises the aldehyde, while the ketone cannot be oxidised due to the stronger C-C bonds.
