In which cell structures does respiration mainly occur?

Resperation in cells occurs in the Mitochondria. Mitochondria are rod shaped organelles that can be thought of as the power generators of the cell. There role is to convert Oxygen and Nutrients into Adenosine Tri Phosphate (ATP) which provides energy to the body.
