Which verbs take être in compound tenses?

At school, I was taught MRS VANDERTRAMP, like most GCSE classes. However, whilst on work experience in France, my host family taught me an extremely catchy song (that I sing to this day!), which I find much easier to remember the verbs that take être.

singing

Aller, arriver, entrer, monter, tomber, rentrer, venir, partir, sortir, descendre, rester, retourner

We can go through this slowly, taking each line at a time.

sing with student

Do you think you can remember it on your own?

student repeats the song on their own

Great!!
