Otto von Bismarck was one of the most influential statesmen of the 19th century. His role in the unification of Germany is widely debated. He was very significant in bringing about a united Germany, even if his intentions were uncles. Nonetheless, there were other factors which were needed for the unification, such as economic, political and military reasons.
