Who is the most important person in a hospital multi-disciplinary team?

Although all the roles in the team are important, because they bring in a wide range of skills, the most important person in the team is the patient.

This is because everything being done is revolved around them, and it is vital to include the patient as much as possible in their own care in order to maintain their confidence in the profession and build a strong doctor-patient relationship, which is crucial for diagnosis and future treatment

Ethical scenario (medical school interview question): You're a junior doctor working in A&E and are triaging a patient with a head injury. He doesn't want to see you as you're "not white", so can't be a "proper doctor". Discuss the issues raised.
