How can I best prepare for an oxbridge chemistry interview?

They will be looking for a very good knowledge of the a level course and the ability to take a-level concepts a bit further. A good way to test this is to use the Cambridge lower sixth chemistry challenge past papers as they require no further chemistry knowledge but require more of the lateral thinking required in the interview. I would also recommend becoming as familiar as possible with organic chemistry mechanisms (the use of curly arrows and barbed curly arrows) as a possible question is being asked to workout the mechanism of a reaction covered in the a level course. Reading ‘The Foundations of Organic Chemistry’ primer will help with this You should be extremely familiar with your personal statement as they are likely to dig deeper into the topic of interest that you discuss in it. Therefore, you should ensure you have a detailed knowledge of any book/articles/molecules that you talk about in the personal statement.
