Discuss the causes and associated health problems of atherosclerosis

Causes- Too much cholesterol in the blood. This can be as a result of high LDL and low HDL levels in the blood. or as it is more known as a high LDL:HDL ratio.

LDL are not very good for you and a way to remember the difference between LDL and HDL, is H (healthy) and L (lethal), I find this particularly useful to remember the difference between them.

Other causes of athersclerosis can be due to lack of excersie and a sedentary lifestyle, genetic conditions and diabetes.

Athersclerosis is associated with several health problems mainly vascular disease, increasing the individual's risk of heart attacks, strokes and hypertension.

remember athersclerosis is essential a narrowed blood vessels which results in a reduction of blood flow to these organs (heart, brain and so on) which is the reason for the health problems.
