Can you please help understand this diagram I drew in class?

After the student show me the diagram, I would ask them what topic they are currently doing in chemistry and what text book they are working with. After going threw that procidure I would then upload the diagram onto the whiteboard and try explain the diagram in the smiplest format  I can .
