Breifly describe the cohesion-tension theory in plants?

  1. Water evaporates from the cells and leaves the plant once the stomata open,

  2. This creates a suction which pulls more water into the leaf

  3. As water is cohesive due to hydrogen bonds, when one molecule moves other tend to follow, the whole column of the xylem moves upwards

  4. Water enters through the roots
