Explain how increased blood flow to an athletes muscles helps them to run

  • "Explain" - so must give reasons why something is happening - Increased blood flow - what does this mean? Means more blood reaches the muscles -What does the blood carry (that the muscles need)? Carries oxygen and glucose -What do the muscles need oxygen and glucose for? For energy, via respiration -So increased blood flow means more oxygen and glucose reaches the muscles, meaning more respiration and more energy for the muscles
