How do I ensure my personal statement stands out to medical schools?

There are 3 main components to formulating a stand-out personal statement:1) Unique intro- You can approach this a variety of ways: A summary of the reason/experience that pulled you to medicine (if powerful/unique); quote from a book/article/person; powerful statement about yourself (qualities of a doctor).2) Work experience - Ensure you have relevant work experience and volunteering (Hospitals, GP, pharmacy, nursing home/hospice, disabled children/schools). Work experience: shows genuine interest Volunteering: shows dedication 3) Extra-curricular/wider interests - Well rounded & time-management skills. Opportunity to stand out.
