What is the role of bile in digestion?

Bile basically has the same function as washing up liquid, it makes it easier to break down fatty material. It is released by the liver, and stored in the gall bladder, before being released into the small intestine. It EMULSIFIES the fat and breaks it down into smaller droplets, and this makes it easier for the enzymes in the small intestine to act, as they have a much greater surface area to act upon.
