Why do you want to study medicine?

There are several aspects to consider when answering this typical interview question. Firstly, state your primary reason for wanting to study medicine. This can be anything; do not worry if it is a common reason or if you think it is a cliche. What your answer needs to be is honest, truthful and earnest in your response. Next, you can talk about your previous experiences and factors in your decision to undertake this application. Think about what you have seen, done and learnt that influenced your decision and informed you of the career ahead, then display the qualities and knowledge you have gained from these experiences. As an example, this can include acknowledgements of the challenges of working, personal qualities needed for the job and what the job role entails. Finally, summarising your answer is a good idea to give your interviewer some take-home messages. You could state why this career is suitable for you, what personal qualities and skills lend you to a career in medicine, and what working as a doctor will bring to you personally.
