Explain how a recessive phenotype can be produced from two parents with a dominant phenotype

A recessive phenotype is produced when there are two copies of the same recessive allele e.g. aaA dominant phenotype is produced when there is at least one copy of a dominant allele e.g. Aa or AAA parent with a dominant trait can be a carrier of a recessive allele e.g. AaWhen both parents are carriers of the recessive trait, there is a 25% chance that their offspring will inherit two copies of the recessive allele, and therefore inherit the recessive traitThis can be illustrated using a punnett square
