What is the circuit of culture?

The circuit of culture is a term that was coined by theorists who were studying the Walkman. It provides a framework to analyze cultural texts or artefacts. The circuit consists of five aspects that are all interlinked with each other: ProductionConsumptionRegulationRepresentationIdentityThe circuit is often used in cultural studies (or media studies) to look at technologies such as cellphones, iPads, etc.
