There are three main types which are as follows episodic, semantic, and procedural. The latter is the easiest to remember and can be figured out from the word itself, it's simply remembering how to do things for example riding a bike. No matter how old you get you don't forget it. Episodic memory relies on your experiences and emotions so it would be how you felt when you lost someone close to you. Whereas sematic memory is remembering facts and figure such as the second world war ended in 1945.
