describe the structure of the cardiovascular system, considering causes, resulting outcomes and treatment of coronary heart disease (CHD)

describe and visualise heart and CVS structure to begin to understand the underpinning principles of the heart, arteries and veins. build upon these principles with regard to coronary heart disease and the possible causes - effects including artery narrowing due to fatty deposits and therefore reduced blood flow, caused by smoking, high fat diets, high cholesterol diet, lack of exercise, high blood pressure, and obesity. (all of these would be discusses individually to allow the student to understand how the cause leads to the effect. And finally treatment options to be discussed, including stents and statins, and how these could be used in the management of CHD.
