How do I get inspiration?

There are many places where you can get inspiration. This would include online such as pinterest or instagram. You should always look at previous artists work and see how you can combine their techniques to produce something new. Inspiration is everywhere, from the natural world to everyday routines. Talking to other people about a range of topics is also very helpful.
Basing your ideas around interesting subject matter is very important. For example, if you were interested in gender, do not just use women. Look more into specific aspects of gender such as the male gaze. Possibly even how men are affected by gender stereotypes.
