Le passé Composé (Present Perfect)

It can be translated with the present perfect or the simple past in English. It is used to indicate that an action in the past has been completed. In everyday language, the passé composé is also often used instead of the passé simple.Construction: Auxiliaire être ou avoir + participe passé (qui s'accorde en féminin pluriel dans certain cas, exemple: elle est allée)

"je les ai achetés" why does the past participle "achetés" have an "s" at the end when it is an "avoir" verb? I was taught that only verbs that use "être" as their auxiliary add endings to the past participle?
