Are felsic or mafic magmas more explosive

Felsic magmas as they contain more silica molecule (si02) and are therefore more viscous (cannot flow as easily as mafic magmas) meaning more pressure can build up behind the magma before an eruption happens. Mafic magmas tend to produce thinner, less explosive magmatic eruptions.
