Describe the process of transcription for a gene

DNA Helicase unwinds double helix by breaking hydrogen bonds where the gene is located. The single stranded part of the helix will act as template strand for RNA.Free floating nucleotides will attach to complementary base nucleotides on the template strand via hydrogen bonding.RNA polymerase will work unilaterally to join the RNA nucleotides together forming a phosphodiesterase back bone until it reaches a stop codon on the DNA sequence. Producing a single stranded pre-mRNA with oxyribose nucleotides.
