How do you structure the response to a question about the changes of a population due to natural selection

Individuals within a species show a wide range of genetic variation. Some individuals will have characteristics more suited for their environment, meaning they are more likely to survive and reproduce. The alleles for these characteristics are passed down generations. The individuals with characteristics that are less favourable to their environment are less likely to survive and reproduce. As a result, their genes are less likely to be passed onto the next generation. Over time, the species will evolve in such a way that individuals will be better suited or more adapted to its environment.
