### How do I simplify the equation 4x + 5x -2 - 2x + 7?

To simplify an equation the x terms can be collected together to give: 4x + 5x - 2x = 7x

The numbers can be collected together to give: -2 + 7 = 5

Which then when put together makes 7x + 5
