How should I structure my personal statement?

First thing to say is that there is no perfect set formula. However, there are some good principles to follow. Start off with a short paragraph on why you want to study medicine. Then have three main paragraphs each with a distinct focus. For me, the focuses were work experience, volunteering, and learning outside of the classroom. Then wrap it up with a succinct paragraph on what you do away from the classroom environment and give a final reason why you are suitable for the course and career.
