From all the roles within healthcare, why medicine?

For this question, the best way to answer is to have some knowledge of not only what being a doctor involves, but having an awareness of other occupations within healthcare and how they differ from each other. I recommend doing this through: work experience, shadowing other professionals and not only doctors, researching other degrees/jobs online, speaking to people you already know. By doing this you can formulate an answer that is rooted from experience and genuine opinion. Furthermore, it will help you answer this question for yourself and solidify your choice of degree (remember, interviewers can read through memorised and artificial answers!).
(Tip: You might want to think about the aspects of medicine that you don’t necessarily enjoy and why despite them, you still want to be a doctor. Talking about this shows interviewers that you have really considered the good AND the bad sides of medicine and that you are not ignorant of the challenges that inevitably come with being a doctor.)
