How do I start my personal statement?

A catchy first line summarising your interest in your chosen course and what you feel you'll bring to it will grab the interest of the admissions team. Quotes can be a bit cheesy unless they are genuinely the best way of expressing your passion for your subject. The most important thing is figuring out your major reason for applying - when did you first realise this was the subject for you? What aspect of your personality do you think is suited to your chosen course? What extra reading or other explorations of your subject have you done, which cemented your choice for you? Drawing from these will ensure that your personal statement is genuine, original, and captures the interest of the reader.
