You are working on a ward round when your fellow junior doctor slurs some of his words. You are concerned but am uncertain on what to do. Later on , you can smell the alcohol on him. How do you deal with this?

  1. Patient comes first - if your patient is in danger, you need to act in their best interest.2) Making sure you handle it professionally - You might be annoyed or worried by seeing this, however you should not let this affect your own work.3) who to tell? You should tell whoever is in charge of your ward round that day. Immediately, before there is any time for any problems .

Ethical scenario (medical school interview question): You're a junior doctor working in A&E and are triaging a patient with a head injury. He doesn't want to see you as you're "not white", so can't be a "proper doctor". Discuss the issues raised.
