How do I revise for a subject like History?

For a lot of people History is a really difficult subject to revise. From my experience, getting a really good basis of facts is the first step before you can discuss past paper questions in groups. The last step would be to plan lots of possible questions in each topic and use your facts to help evidence your main points.
