How are local climates affected by deforestation?

Deforestation causes a change to the local water cycle. This is done by reduced evapotranspiration which can cause droughts in neighbouring areas. Another effect is increased temperatures due to reduced water levels in the ecosystem. Water has a high specific heat capacity so can reduce the temperature of the local climate.
