Describe the inside of the synagogue

Look at what the question is asking you to do, the word 'describe' highlights the fact that you need to identify certain features of the synagogue and then explain the importance these features have to the Jewish faith.I would begin by listing some of the features which you know, and then select the 4 which you know the most about and believe you can explain in an evaluative and descriptive manner about.Write it outThe Synagogue is considered to be the centre of Judaism and is commonly referred to be the 'house of God'. Unlike some other places of worship for other faiths, the synagogue does not have idles or images of God due to the Jewish faith believing in 'one God' which is the centre of mono-theism. The heart of the synagogue is the Ark, also known as the Aron Hakodesh, which is where the torah scrolls are housed. This Ark is always placed so that people are praying towards the direction of Jerusalem which is the site of the Western Wall, the holiest site in the Jewish faith. In front of the Ark will be a 'Bimah' which is a stage type platform where the Torah will be read by a Rabbi or leader of the community.
