Chain length: a longer chain will have more intermolecular bonds which will lead to a stronger, stiffer polymer

Crystallinity: a more crystalline polymer will have stronger intermolecular bonds which are closer together due to the chains being able to pack closely

Cross-links: covalent bonds between polymer chains will increase the stiffness of the polymer as they are less able to slide relative to one another

Plasticisers: prevent some intermolecular bonds from forming by sitting between the polymer chains, leading to more flexible but weaker polymer
