What is the conditional and how is it formed?

The conditional mood is used to describe what could, should or would have happened, in a certain situation. The conditional is used frequently to form Si Clauses, ("if" clauses), and is used as follows:"Je jouerais au foot toute la journée." = I would play football all day.The conditional can also be used in daily conversation to be more polite. For example when ordering something to drink."Je voudrais un coca." Instead of: "Je veux un coca." = "I would like a coca-cola." Instead of: "I want a coca-cola."
