A place is a space which people have an attachment to. It have three key concepts. Location indicates exactly 'where' a place is, eg coordinates. For example, Glastonbury is in Somerset and is 23 miles south of Bristol. Locale refers to how a place is shaped by the people, cultures and customs within it. For example, Glastonbury in the home to: Glastonbury Tor which is a spiritual site; quirky independent shops; and Glastonbury Abbey which brings with it the legend of King Arthur who is buried there.
