What are the effects of temperature on enzymes?

Enzymes are not able to function properly at all temperatures and the optimum temperature is the temperature at which the enzyme works the best at.

If the temperature is too cold, the rate of reaction is very slow due to a lack of kinetic enery. So as the temperature increases the enzyme is able to function better.

However if the tempertaure is too hot, this can cause the intermolecular bonds in the enzyme to break. This can change the specialised shape of the enzyme which causes the enzyme to denature.
