How do I start my personal statement?

The Universities have to go through thousands of applications a day so you need to grab their attention from the first sentence of your personal statement, make them want to find out more about you. I believe that the best way to start a personal statement is to shortly say why you became interested in that subject; saying that you are passionate about the subject is not enough, the tutors will want to know why. This can be from a book you read or an experience you've had in work or in general. This will differ you from other students which is the most important thing to do during the application process.
