What elements should I be focussing on in my Director's Notebook?

It really depends on the style you choose to have your chosen play performed. The key elements that you must include however are: the play and its context, your artistic response and other live theatre experiences, your directorial intentions and its intended impact and finally, your staging of two moments of the play. Within the final section, you need to remember to include: staging, lighting, costume, actor's expressions, movements and tone and (if applicable sound effects and music).
