quod Tarpeia Sabinos ad oppidum Romanorum duxit, Sabini mox murum deleverunt et oppidum intraverunt. tandem Tarpeia ad Sabinos venit et aurum rogavit. Sabini tamen perfidiam puellae non laudabant. scuta in Tarpeiam iecerunt et eam necaverunt.-------

Because Tarpeia led the Sabines to the town of the Romans, the Sabines soon destroyed the walls and entered the town. After a while, Tarpeia went to the Sabines and asked for gold. The Sabines, however, were not praising the treachery of the girl. They threw their shields on Tarpeia and killed her.
