A report<\/a> by education charity The Sutton Trust has revealed that 1\/3 of students in the UK are already receiving private tuition. The proportion of students getting tutoring has risen rapidly in the past 5 years, with Maths tutoring<\/a>, English tutoring<\/a> and tutoring in languages being the most popular. So why are so many parents turning to tuition? <\/span><\/p>\n

Many parents are concerned that their children\u2019s needs aren\u2019t being met in class. With class sizes and teacher workloads at an all-time high, this concern is certainly justified as teachers struggle to provide students with the support they need.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tutoring<\/a> gives students the chance to learn at their own pace and address specific topics which they\u2019re finding hard, helping them to reach their potential. <\/span><\/p>\n

Parents also find that tutoring improves their children\u2019s grades, confidence, and enjoyment of learning. <\/span><\/p>\n

Privately-educated students are twice as likely to receive private tuition as their state-educated peers. Tutors also tend to be concentrated in London and the South East, making it harder for parents in other locations to find high-quality tutors for their children. <\/span><\/p>\n
