We know it\u2019s a real shame not to be celebrating in style with a cap and gown, but we\u2019ve heard loads of happy news from tutors on your stellar exam results.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to keep tutoring with us after uni, that\u2019s great. You might want to update your profile to shout about your degree &#8211; send us an email with confirmation of your qualification and we\u2019ll be happy to add that for you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other exciting news, <strong>we\u2019re also hiring at the moment<\/strong>, and have a number of open roles across the business at entry-level and 1-3 years experience. We\u2019ve got several former tutors in our team and we love the perspective they bring. So, if you or a friend are looking for work in a fast-paced edtech environment, check out our vacancies <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/apply.workable.com\/mytutor\/j\/755BEFFE77\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>School students&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Summer programmes<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>With concerns over lost learning in lockdown, lots of our schools are extending their programmes over the summer holidays, to help students catch up before the next academic year. This includes our biggest multi-academy trust partner, who are running a summer programme throughout August for 1,100 pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also running a <strong>landmark <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/educationendowmentfoundation.org.uk\/news\/online-tuition-pilot-launched-school-closures-could-undo-progress\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>online tuition pilot<\/strong><\/a><strong> with the Education Endowment Foundation<\/strong> (EEF), and have delivered a whopping 5,000 lessons so far &#8211; with great feedback from the pilot evaluators, NatCen. A special thank you to the 8 tutors who joined us recently with NatCen for some pilot roundtable sessions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.mytutor.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/trusted-by-institutions-1024x789-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-949 lazyload\" width=\"332\" height=\"255\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 332px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 332\/255;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mytutor.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/trusted-by-institutions-1024x789-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-949\" width=\"332\" height=\"255\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this pilot, we\u2019ve rolled out a <strong>new quality monitoring process<\/strong> where we randomly review a selection of lessons each week and provide feedback on any ways that the lesson could be improved &#8211; we hope this will be a useful way of helping you fine-tune your tutoring skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re also trying to support you with more lesson content. We recently trialled a bank of resources and got some great constructive feedback. Off the back of that, we&#8217;ll be focusing on providing content that you can&#8217;t find for free on Google. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, if you\u2019re <strong>looking to start working with school pupils <\/strong>and haven\u2019t yet been approved, thanks for your patience. We\u2019re still keeping a close eye on demand, and expect to onboard more of you in September &#8211; starting with those who have been waiting the longest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>National Tutoring Programme<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ve probably heard about the government\u2019s plans to provide a \u00a31bn catch-up education fund for schools, which includes a \u00a3350m pot allocated to the <strong>newly established <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/nationaltutoring.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>National Tutoring Programme<\/strong><\/a><strong> (NTP)<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the NTP, which will be rolled out in the 2020\/2021 academic year, is to help schools provide vital tuition for students who missed out on learning during school closures and lockdown &#8211; in particular, students from disadvantaged backgrounds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.mytutor.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ntplogo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-951 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 310px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 310\/163;\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mytutor.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ntplogo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-951\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting in September, tutoring organisations will be able to apply to be part of the programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve been talking closely with the EEF, Sutton Trust, and other key organisations responsible for the initiative, and, given our extensive experience over the past seven years supporting 550+ schools with online one-to-one tuition, we\u2019ll be putting ourselves forward for selection as an NTP partner. We\u2019ll keep you posted on our progress and how you can get involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the NTP in mind, we\u2019re thinking about ways that we can reach as many pupils as possible, so we\u2019re developing our platform to enable us to deliver <strong>small group (think 2-3 pupils) tuition for schools.<\/strong> This is a big project, so it won\u2019t happen overnight &#8211; but we\u2019re hoping to run a very small pilot (1 school) in the Autumn term, and then to start to scale up group tuition once we\u2019re happy with how it works.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As always, if you have any questions or feedback, we\u2019d love to hear from you.
