Why? Mainly to make sure this year&#8217;s exam takers are being treated fairly. This is due to the disruption they\u2019ve experienced, and continue to face, because of (you guessed it) the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019ve created a support package for students in England taking exams this summer. But don\u2019t worry &#8211; to break it down, we\u2019ve highlighted all the major updates for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contents \ud83d\udcd7<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#Overview\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#Overview\">Overview<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#exam-boards\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#exam-boards\">Exam boards<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#subject-changes\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#subject-changes\">Specific subject changes<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Overview\">Overview \ud83d\udcdd<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a nutshell, here\u2019s what\u2019s changing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Changes to coursework <\/strong>&#8211; Non-exam assessment and fieldwork requirements will be adjusted, with more flexibility in some subjects<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Optional content <\/strong>&#8211; For some GCSEs, there\u2019ll be less content or fewer topics for students to learn (less work for you to cover!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Generous grading<\/strong> &#8211; Exams will be graded more generously this year, providing a safety net for students<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Support materials <\/strong>&#8211; Students will get formulae and equation sheets in some exams, so they don\u2019t have to memorise as much and are better equipped<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Advance information<\/strong> &#8211; To help students revise, exam boards will give information on the focus of exams for most subjects &#8211; so you know exactly what topics to base your tutoring session around<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"exam-boards\">Exam boards \ud83c\udfeb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Exam boards have also published specific information about the changes
