Spring term is underway and as our tutor community grows – we want to continue supporting each of you to pick up more slots and earn money easily. Here\u2019s some advice and updates from our side:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quick ways to get more slots\ud83d\udcb0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Struggling to pick up work? While it might feel like there\u2019s a lack of work, this could be because your current tutoring details aren\u2019t as detailed as they could be!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To increase your chance of picking up slots- we recommend the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Add more levels to your profile<\/strong>– Teaching a subject at GCSE (the most popular level)? If you can, why not extend that to KS3 and A-level too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Offer a wide range of subjects<\/strong> – Currently, the most demanded subjects are Maths, English (both lit and lang) and Science (all 3 of them)- so these will open up the most opportunities (and have the highest competition!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s worth including subjects outside this, particularly for the higher levels. Since they\u2019re taught by fewer tutors they\u2019ll increase your chances of getting work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Download our tutor app<\/strong> – This is the best and quickest way to get notified of new opportunities in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Don\u2019t forget to boost!<\/strong> – (more on this below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep your priority status at number one\u261d\ufe0f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been a few months now since we introduced our new pay band and priority status system. For those who\u2019ve been slipping down from Priority 1 to Priority 2 and aren\u2019t sure why – here\u2019s a reminder of how to keep yourself at Priority 1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Be reliable<\/strong> – attend your lessons on time (or let us know in advance if you need cover)
\u2022 Confirm your availability<\/strong> – let us know when you\u2019re free to work
\u2022 Use the boost button<\/strong> – Do this each week to again show you\u2019re looking for work<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tutor Reps – what was discussed in January\ud83d\udcac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last month, your tutor reps gathered your suggestions and shared an agenda with the MyTutor team. The key things discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Pupils using mobile phones to launch lesson
\u2022 Schools pupil details form
\u2022 Cover lessons
\u2022 Tutor payment
\u2022 Tutor emails\/comms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember to continue getting in touch with your tutor reps by using the #tutorreps hashtag on the Facebook forum, or leaving a suggestion here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
