Our tutors aren't just subject experts

They’re also role models, recruited from the UK's top universities.

Our IB tutors have achieved top marks in the International Baccalaureate themselves and are currently studying at internationally renowned UK universities including Oxford and Cambridge. An IB tutor can help you master the academic content of the course, and also offer guidance on CAS, extended essays and the Theory of Knowledge. And because our tutors took their own IB exams only a couple of years ago, they are able to set realistic tasks and goals and give advice tailored specifically to you and your needs. So you get value from every minute of your tutorials.

  • Recent experience
  • Proven exam success
  • Strong communication skills
  • Personally interviewed
  • A or A* in their subjects
  • Up-to-date syllabus knowledge

Chris has worked throughly with my son on his IB past papers. I am extremely impressed with his professional approach to teaching, his quick response to my messages and his helpfulness in finding a solution with regard to timing, days, etc. He is very knowledgeable about the workings of MyTutorWeb, which put me at ease with the whole process. Thank you Chris! :o)

Harry L. GCSE English Literature tutor, GCSE French tutor, A Level Fr...

Throughout having lessons with him, my confidence in the subject has improved and I wish I had started the lessons earlier in the year to have benefited much more from it. Even though there was little time to fit as many lessons in, Harry compromised his time to be able to help me. Although his Spanish capabilities have far exceeded what I am required to do, he was still able to explain concepts well. To cap it all, he had very good knowledge of the course!

What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

Studies English at Oxford

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
