We’re proud to announce that MyTutor are finalists at the Bett Awards 2019 for our collaboration with Tring School.

The award celebrates collaborations with between schools and education technology which have had a transformational impact on educational standards.  Therefore, we’re delighted that our partnership with Tring School has been shortlisted.

About the Bett Awards

The Bett Awards launched in 1985 and are an annual celebration for the highest levels of achievement by companies that supply Information and Communications Technology for education. We’re thrilled to be nominated alongside other leading EdTech companies including Kano, Satchel and Avantis. Check out the complete list of finalists across 21 categories here.

Why EdTech is so important

Post the announcement of the Autumn Budget 2018, efficiency in the support provided to pupils is at the forefront of every school’s agenda. Understandably, many are turning to EdTech to solve everyday problems in the classroom. Damian Hinds recently called on the technology industry to lead the charge on solutions to issues faced by teachers daily.

MyTutor is an innovative one-to-one online tuition platform, making personalised and flexible tuition an affordable solution for schools. We work with over 9,000 hand picked tutors from the UK’s top universities. This means we can find the best tutor fit for every pupil we support.

MyTutor collaborates with over 260 schools across the UK. We develop bespoke one-to-one tuition programmes to support the needs of the school and their pupils.

Our work with Tring School

Tring School is an innovative institution, always looking for the best ways to support all of their pupils. We are proud to have been a part of this since our collaboration started in 2017, when we began providing one-to-one tuition within the school. Tring run the programme as an after school club, with over 50 pupils already benefiting from 760 hours of private tuition in core subjects. The personalised support has helped boost pupil confidence and subject knowledge in the lead up to their GCSE exams.

MyTutor and Tring school have been shortlisted for the “Collaboration with a School” award for this programme, and look forward to this partnership continuing during the 2018 academic year.

The Impact

Data about pupils current and target grades are collected from every school we work with. This is so we can track and assess the impact of our programme. Excitingly, in the 17/18 academic year we were delighted to see that Tring pupils with one hour per week of one-to-one tuition for term made an average of 1.5 grades progress in their final exams vs their mock grades.

Our partnership with Tring school has been particularly successful due to the great work of the teaching staff in embedding the programme into the workings of the school. They ensure it fits in with each pupil’s weekly routine and attendance remains high.

The Awards

We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony on 23rd January 2019 and wish all other finalists the best of luck.
